The quality and condition of the ice in an ice rink is obviously very important when it comes to the experience of the skaters.  In order to ensure the best quality ice, purifying agents are sometimes added to prevent against “sticky ice” by reducing the water’s salinity.  If it as a rink used for hockey, there is obviously the base paint that is applied to the bottom two layers of rink ice before the rest is sealed in and layered on.
