What chemicals are released from burning treated/finished wood?

It depends on what the wood is treated/finished/painted with. Aldehyde and other organic gases are released from burning wood, regardless of whether it is treated or not, Aldehyde and its derivatives are irritating to the eyes. Much of the pressure treated wood in the US is treated with arsenic, a known poison and carcinogen.
