Chemical dispersion describes the absorption of dangerous chemicals into our environment. Beyond the day to day environmental concerns, chemical dispersion involves possible dangers for our soldiers and the general population.
Scientists have turned to computer mathematical modeling and simulation models to predict the dispersion and persistence of a chemical in their air and ground after release. Additionally, this model examines how long a chemical remains active or dangerous once it is deposited. This mathematical modeling is proving to greatly enhance the ability to computationally simulate possible scenarios involving chemical releases and aid officials in taking preventative actions to protect soldiers and the general population.
