It depends on where you live and who you buy your energy from. In general, coal is the cheapest, as it has the best established infrastructure and is plentiful in the United States. In some places, however, wind and natural gas can be cheaper. As we continue to develop our renewable technologies, eventually solar, wind, and other renewables will be the cheapest sources of energy.
