What characteristics do eukaryotic cells share?

All eukaryotic cells have a defined nucleus with its own membrane.  In comparison to prokaryotic cells (bacteria and archaea), eukaryotic cells have complex DNA which can form chromosomes, and a greater variety of organelles. Eukaryotic cells are on average ten times larger than prokaryotic cells.    All eukaryotic cells reproduce via mitosis or meiosis and are the building blocks that make up complex organisms from fungi to humans.
