    CERN is the European Organization for Nuclear Research. It’s primary aims are to use fundamental physics to uncover absolute truths about the physical state of the universe. Instruments such as accelerators and detectors are utilized at the CERN research institute, in order to examine the properties and state of particles when they collide. The CERN laboratory was founded in 1954, and is located on the French-Swiss border, near Geneva.
