What is causing the Antarctic ice shelf collapse?

Global climate change is causing the collapse of ice shelves in both Antarctica and the Arctic. As the temperature of our planet increases, we will be seeing more and more melting of massive ice sheets. Even if the entire sheet hasn’t melted, if the ice is weakened in key areas, this can cause massive collapses of the entire sheet. Unfortunately, the Antarctic ice shelves are not the only ones to be collapsing, and this is something we have been witnessing with greater and greater frequency.
