There are a number of reasons that your muscles could be twitching, some more serious than others, but the common reasons that I would suggest first are: exercise, anxiety, diet deficiency. My muscles often twitch after lifting or running, which is apparently due to lactic acid building up and the muscles responding with free radicals forming. This can be counteracted with antioxidants, but should also go away on its own. Your muscles could be dehydrated and/or have too much caffeine.
I agree with the other answer. For me it’s often due to dehydration and vitamin deficiency. I find that if I keep hydrated during a workout, I experience less of the lactic acid build up. Being hydrated also helps with muscle soreness.
