Dew is formed when a surface cools to a temperature colder (through a loss of infrared radiation-very often sunlight) than the air surrounding the area. It is created from condensed water vapors in the air and is a form of liquid water. Typically, dew forms on the cool surface of cars before it forms on blades of grass.
