The main factor leading to the cause of global warming is the emissions of greenhouse gases as a result of human activities. The atmosphere traps heat as it radiates from Earth, resulting in the warming. Some of the gases that contribute to the greenhouse effect include, water vapor, carbon dioxide, methane, nitrous oxide, and chlorofluorocarbons. Human activity, such as the burning of fossil fuels like coal and oil, increases these emissions. Cars, factories, and electricity all emit carbon dioxide, the gas responsible for most of the warming. Industrialization and agriculture also contribute by releasing other damaging gases, such as methane and nitrous oxide.
