What causes global warming?

The primary cause is an excess of greenhouse gasses in the planet’s atmosphere. These cases trap heat on the planet’s surface, slowly raising the average temperature on the planet. Chief among these gasses is carbon dioxide. The surplus greenhouse gasses are mostly the result of human activities; emissions from transportation and industry. We’ve pumped so much of these gasses into the air that it has surpassed the Earth’s built-in self-regulation mechanisms.
