What caused the big ladybug infestation in that Colorado town?

Etymologists claim that the wet spring and early summer in the midwest have led to an increase in the population of aphids. Ladybugs, in turn, have moved in to eat the aphids. Ladybugs do not usually “swarm” unless they are mating. The reason that the ladybugs infested Jefferson County, Colorado was that they happened to pick that particular town to mate.
