What is the case to be made for disallowing stem cell use in research for ethical reasons?

The anti-stem cell argument plays heavily on the platform of ethics and appeals to emotion.  The most dominant argument against stem cells focuses on the inhumanness of using destroyed human embryos from babies who should have the right to a life.  Additionally, anti-stem cell research proponents say that no research exists to suggest that stem cells will cure any diseases; they believe stem cell research is an expensive foray into exploratory science at the expense of tax payers and human lives.
