It’s always interesting knowing how much your actions impact the planet I think.
A carbon footprint is a measure of the impact a persons activities have on the environment. It can also be viewed a persons influence on climate change. It relates to green house gases and the amount of emissions produced by a task run in day to day life. In a nutshell: it is a measurement of all greenhouse gases we individually produce.
The phrase “carbon footprint” refers to how much carbon byproduct a person, place, or thing produces through a process or just existing. This is much the same way your shoe makes a footprint in dirt when you walk, hence the name; by stepping on that spot on the ground, you have disturbed it by making an unnatural impression on it. For carbon byproducts, this could be exhaust and fumes from vehicles or industry, and just trash that pollute. This has become a favorite phrase for environmentally-friendly advocates when describing the effects upon the earth from mostly man-made things that disturb or destroy natural processes or things that are precious to life on this planet.
