What is the carbon dioxide-oxygen cycle?

The two parts of the oxygen cycle are photosynthesis, during which green plants take in water and carbon dioxide and give off oxygen, and respiration, during which organisms use oxygen and give off carbon dioxide and water. In this way, both carbon dioxide and oxygen are cycled through the environment and atmosphere, and distributed around the planet.
