One of the easiest ways to reduce iron levels in the body is to take supplements or eat foods which prevent the body from absorbing iron. Some vegetables such as broccoli, brussel sprouts and leafy greens can block iron uptake from other foods which are rich in iron such as meat. Tea can have this same effect if taken with meals. One should avoid taking vitamin C with meals however as it promotes iron uptake.
