Mexico’s Giant Crystal Cave contains crystals up to 36 feet long and weighing 55 tons. The crystals are made out of gypsum, and are softer than a human fingernail. The air inside the cave is 113 degrees fahrenheit and the humidity is 100%, making it impossible for humans to survive in the cave for more than a few minutes. The heat comes from a magma chamber below the cave.
