Take note of the fact that bed bugs are excellent hitchhikers. They easily latch on bags and clothes. They usually squeeze into cracks, crevices, seams, and folds of material. If you recognize any signs of infestation, make sure to contain these articles of clothing or bags in a plastic bag until you can wash them. When you do, make sure you wash them separately from your other clothes just to play safe. Added prevention measures include vacuuming regularly.
The best preventative measures will be good hygiene. Make sure to wash your clothes frequently, and vacuum often. Once bed bugs are established, they’re notoriously difficult to remove. If you suspect you’ve been exposed to a bed bug infestation, be sure to isolate the clothing and bags and anything else they could hide in, and give it a thorough cleaning.
