Fish scales can be used in a variety of ways. For instance, Tarpon, native to the Atlantic and Indo-Pacific, have scales large enough to be used in the making of jewelry. The scales can be used to create earrings, pins, and decorative objects, like wreaths that can be used for accents. The scales can also be painted or used as an applied material in sewing. If dyed or painted, fish scales can add lots of color and design to blankets, aprons, or other materials of the like.
