You can teach your kids to be environmentally conscious with their school supplies – using all pages in a notebook before getting a new one, buying pencils from recycled wood and using the whole length of the pencil, etc. If you need to drive your kids to school, consider a carpool to save gas and to teach the students the benefits of carpooling from an early age. Pack the kids’ lunches in reusable containers rather than paper bags. A lot of the ideas about recycling and responsible use of resources that apply to adults in the workplace can also be applied to kids at school.
