What can be done to stop logging in the amazon rain forest?

It is almost certainly impossible to stop all logging in the Amazon; it is too important to the indigenous people and other aspects of the economy. Illegal logging is another question: see some previous answers in the link.

Sometimes logging is necessary to provide lumber and timber for products that we all use. Further, like Rigibson points out, logging is very important for the local economy of rainforest areas. Two things would have to happen before logging can stop entirely, and that is first, figure out how to sustain the livelihoods of the indigenous people in the Amazon area; second, figure out how to replace the consumer needs that logging has previously filled.
