The California Truthful Environmental Advertising in Plastics Bill is a bill being established to help diminish the “greenwashing” idea of biodegradable plastics.  A large amount of biodegradable labeling is misleading and misused, as the biodegradable product is not always biodegradable.  Senate Bill 1454 will force a product who wants a biodegradable label to go through a rigorous, verifiable end of life test, called an ASTM standard.  If the product passes the ASTM test, then it may recieve a biodegradable label.
