    Browfield sites are areas and locations where developed is hindered by the presence of pollutants. The complete definition and more legal information about them is available on the EPA website URL provided below. The law governing these sites was created on January 11, 2002. Most often the sites were previously used for industrial uses and are now be reworked and redeveloped for other uses. These sites are not as badly contaminated as superfund sites; these sites are most often cleaned up and reused.
