What is the brightest constellation?

The brightest constellation is Crux, or the Southern Cross.  It is visible in the southern hemisphere year round, and can occasionally be seen on the horizon just north of the equator.  Crux is also the smallest of all the constellations, but the four bright stars that compose its four corners make it very distinctive.
