Board Foot is a unique method of measure for the volume of lumber that can be used in either the U.S. or Canada. One board foot is a piece of lumber that 1 foot wide, 1 foot long, and 1 inch thick (Woodweb, 2011).
It is a measurement of the volume of lumber. A board food is equal to 144 cubic inches of wood. To calculate you take the (thickness x width x length)/ 144.
