What is in the black smoke that comes from diesel engines?

    Diesel exhaust is known for being a major cause of pollutants in the atmosphere including soot, nano particles, and other fine particles that are known to have toxic effects. Some of the chemicals in diesel exhaust may include Carbon Monoxide, Carbon Dioxide, Nitrogen Dioxide, Sulfur Dioxide, Benzene, Formaldehyde, and Trimethylbenzene.
