Bisphenol A (BPA) is an industrial chemical that is used to make polycarbonate plastic resin and epoxy resin. Polycarbonate plastic resin is a type of plastic with high heat resistance, high electrical resistance, and exceptional clarity. Because polycarbonate plastic is a highly efficient type of plastic, it is used to manufacture a myriad of products including automobiles, digital equipment, food and drink containers, etc.
BPA is also used to make epoxy resin which is a highly durable and adhesive material used to coat the inner linings of cans. Epoxy resin is also used to make paint and adhesives.
