A biodynamic winery grows grapes based on the idea that the grapes, soils beneath it, and the plants around it are all ecologically linked together and therefore must all be taken into consideration when growingthe grapes in order to reep increase biodiversity, produce crops with more nutrition, or have better management over pests and weeds.
According to Food and Wine, biodynamic wineries are different then “other forms of organic substainable agriculture…in its idea that farming can be attuned to the spiritual forces of the cosmos [such as] linking sowing and harvesting to the phases of the moon or positions of the planets,” (“Biodynamics: The Next Trend“)
