The largest types of clouds are cumulonimbus clouds, the type of clouds that tend to bring heavy rains and thunderstorms. They grow quickly and can peak out around 75,000 feet.
Cumulonimbus clouds are much larger and more vertical than fair weather cumulus clouds with the tops reaching 39,000 ft or higher. They can either form as individual towers or form a squall line. A squall line is a line of towers.
