Between 1880 and 2000, the largest tornado recorded in Arizona was an F3 that occurred on August 4, 1957 in Maricopa County. Only a few deaths have been recorded as a result of tornadoes in Arizona. No one was reported dead as a result of the 1957 tornado, but 2 people were killed by an F2 tornado in Pima County on August 27, 1964, and 1 person died as a result of an F1 tornado also in Pima County on June 23, 1974. There have not been any F3 tornadoes in Arizona since then.
