The largest frog in North America is the American bull frog. It’s scientific name is Rana catesbeiana. The bull frog is native to eastern United States, but has been introduced to the west. It is incredibly destructive in the west as it is outcompeting native species because of its large size. In places like Wisconsin the tadpoles will take up to 3 years to mature, overwintering below the ice of ponds and lakes.
