NRG Energy Inc. will build the state’s largest solar array in Houston and sell all of the power it makes to the city. The solar plant is scheduled to be up about mid-year 2010. NRG plans to spend $40 million to build a 10-megawatt solar plant on land near a natural gas plant that the company operates.

The biggest solar project up now is in San Antonio at the Pearl Brewery. It was completed this summer in June, with a 200kw solar array! It will generate one-quarter of the total energy needs of 67,000 square-foot Full Goods Building.
