Sturgeon do live in Lake Erie. I believe that they are the largest fish species in that lake. They can grow larger than 6-ft long and be 200lbs or more. They were fished a lot back in the day, so it is possible that a giant fish was caught and never recorded. Because of such over fishing, they are now endangered, so you can’t even keep the ones you catch. I can’t find stats on Lake Erie, but a 310lb, 8ft sturgeon was caught in Lake Superior.
