The Dust Bowl of the 1930s, in Mid-West America, had some of the worst dust storms in history. One particularly bad day was “Black Sunday” in 1935. This dust storm was the heaviest, and darkest, of the Dust Bowl, reaching wind speeds of 60mph, while being 200 miles wide and crossing over multiple states .
