I think that our biggest concern is that we have become too focused on quantity and have sacrificed quality. Portions are huge, and that is made possible by growing huge monocultures of the same crops and animals. We should try instead to grow things with more care for nutrition and quality, and as a result we will have a more sustainable farming system too.
Well, that really depends on who you ask. Some experts are most concerned with processed foods and their contribution to the obesity epidemic. Others are concerned with hormones and antibiotics given to animals and the potential health impacts on humans who consume these products. Plenty of animal-rights groups are most concerned with the inhumane treatment of factory farmed animals. There really is no one factor which is the most important, it depends on your top priorities and point of view.
