          The largest breed of domestic duck is the muscovy duck, which weighs 10-15lbs. It is not clear how the ducks got their name, since they are native to Central and South America: nowhere near Moscow. They were domesticated by Native Americans before the arrival of Columbus, and were introduced to Europe in the 1500s.
