The most ideal way of watering crops on a large scale farm is to let nature do the job for you; complete sustainability is always best. If irrigation is used, however, using water-efficient irrigation systems during the appropriate time of day (early morning or late evening) minimizes the amount of water wasted in the watering process. By using a center pivot drip irrigation system, less energy is used to provide the maximum amount of water to the soil and minimizes the water lost to evaporation, wind, etc. by releasing the water close to the ground between two rows of crops.
