Like any other garden, you have to start with good soil. The goal is to have sandy sort of soil that will drain. If you have a compost bin, its always great to add some of your product to your garden. Be sure not to over fertilize.
Choose your herbs carefully and be sure to plan out your garden before planting. Allow space for herbs that can potentially get large such as rosemary and basil. Some of these herbs are better to grow in pots.
Herbs will flourish in many different environments as long as they get at least 2 hours of direct sunlight per day and have moist, not drenched, soil. Good luck!
