Some good ways to dispose of your old medications are to contact your local pharmacy (many have drug recycling programs), pulverize the medication and place it back in its bottle, then place the bottle in a sealable plastic bag and throw it away (this should only be used if you cannot find a pharmacy that will take it), or contact your local hazardous waste facility for recommendations. Do not simply throw away the medications or flush it down the toilet as they can leak into the soil. Some expired medications can be considered hazardous.
