What is the best type of energy for space shuttles to use?

It depends on what type of energy you are talking about — if it’s thrust (for getting into space in the first place) — then it is their liquid hydrogen and oxygen fuel mixture that works…. but once they’re in orbit, and docked with the space station, they are only using their electronic instruments (the engines need not be running constantly) and for that they use solar energy. So I guess the answer is twofold: Chemical potential energy and Solar Energy.
