The best type of grain to grow, cook, and eat is one that is high in nutritional value, or a “whole grain”. There are many different grains that are plentiful or “whole”. Some of these grains are: barley, rye, oatmeal, millet, brown rice and quinoa.
If you are sensitive to gluten, the rice and quinoa (pronounced keen-wah) are great options. Quinoa actually has the highest protein content of any grain and, therefore, is a great option nutritionally.
