Hair sheep are a good choice if you want to breed and maintain sheep, but you don’t want to constantly deal with handling and caring for the wool. These sheep are made for breeding as they do so year-round and produce and above-average amount of milk. They have the added benefits of being parasite and hoof-rot resistant as well as having a high heat tolerance. Katahdin and Dorper sheep are just two breeds of hair sheep, but their growing numbers make them easy to obtain for a new farm.
