Stainless steel cookware is made up of a mixture of different metals including nickel and chromium, which can leach out of the pan and into your food in small amounts, especially if your cookware is scratched or dented. Ceramic cookware has none of these risks, although it may be more likely to chip if you’re not careful, potentially leading to small clay shards in your food. However, neither option is going to do you any long-lasting harm, especially if you treat your cookware well.
Cast-iron cookware may actually be your healthiest and safest bet, but cast-iron takes more time to care for and season after each use.
