What is the best non-toxic glue for working with leather?

I’m trying to find a strong glue that I can use to glue my leather belt back together. I tried silicone glue, but it didn’t hold. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated. If you’ve actually used the product before, even better.

Tear Mender is a non-toxic adhesive that can bond just about any material, including leather and jeans. It stays flexible even after washing and is applied like glue.

This forum of leatherworkers has some great ideas. They recommend using non-toxic glue from Tandy or Fiebings. One person mentioned they used Tandy and it worked very well. The forum also says that any glue marked “institutional” is considered non-toxic.
