    They say to use cladding materials that have a low U value, like a double skin polythene. The most common materials are: glass, rigid plastics and plastic films. Here is a quick analysis:

    • glass: highest light transmission, lasts the longest (30+ years), most expensive – tempered glass is recommended and a single layer is best
    • rigid plastics – less expensive, last 7-10 years, usually come in two sheets (with the air between acting as insulation), light transmission is very good
    • plastic films – i.e. polyethylene, cheapest cladding material, last 3-4 years, installed in two layers that are inflated with a small fan,
