As far as chains are concerned, Trader Joe’s and Whole Foods are pretty good in terms of organic food. The best consideration, however, would be something that is both organic AND local. That would severely cut down on the carbon foot print of how you get your food. Local grocers differ all over the country and world. Farmer’s markets are available in most regions and are a great way to buy local. You also help cut out the middle man and directly help the growers.
