what is the benefit of hydrogen fuel cells if they still produce co2 and water as an emission?

Hydrogen fuel cells are highly efficient because they convert stored energy within a fuel into a usable energy. Studies show that hydrogen fuel cells can actually reduce CO2 emissions by 80% by the year 2050. Fuel cells only emit water when they are being used and overall generate less emissions than other combustion based technologies.
