Bald Eagles love to eat fish! Specifically they seem to catch a lot of Carp and Catfish due to there downward facing eyes, which makes it harder for them to spot the Eagle coming. They will all eat snakes, turtles, and other small animals. They seem to prefer whatever is in their talons!
Bald eagles are said to prefer fish, mainly because most species live along the coast where fish are an easy and unsuspecting prey. However, these great birds are as economical and bargain-loving as most Americans, and so they will go for whatver food seems most convenient to their situation. As such, bald eagles have been known to eat fish, livestock (such as chickens), or even carrion.
