According to the following chart from the National Center for Health Statistics, the average weight of a 4’8″ eleven-year-old girl should be between 80 and 90 pounds:
However, remember that there is no such thing as a perfect weight. Some people may be below or above average and still be healthy.
Before I go on I should just preface that although exercise and a healthy diet are imperative to growth, dieting in young girls can severely damage development and can cause dangerous health issues in the future. Eleven years old is the beginning of a crucial stage of development, and the body of an eleven year old girl (or any eleven year old) cannot be afforded deprivation of any much needed nutrients and calories. A healthy person is an attractive person (and that’s not new age mumbo-jumbo, that’s pretty much the scientific criteria every animal uses in finding attractiveness, including humans).
What is a healthy weight will vary from person to person, as people have different body types. In addition, muscle weights more than fat, and body fat percentage is more commonly used to assess a person’s healthy weight. Body Mass Index uses the ratio of height to weight to determine what range is healthy, but it is normally adapted for adults, as children and teens are constantly developing and growing and thus gaining weight. Though there are systems designed for children and teens, below is a link to one.
A pediatrician would give you the most useable figure for a specific eleven year old girl’s body, as well as healthy means of maintaining a good weight range.
