    It rarely rains, except in the northern areas such as the Antarctic peninsula. Average precipitation (rain and snow) across the continent ranges from 2″ to 40″ per year.

    Antartica averages 50 mm (about 2 inches) of water in its interior. which technically makes it a desert. A very cold desert with penguins.
